Joe Mzamane Road construction finally completed

“We are urging road users to abide by the rules of the road and not damage it during protests,” he added.

Kwa-Thema – The road construction of the notorious Joe Mzamane Road has finally been completed.
The R10-million road has been smeared with controversy since the project was rolled out in 2019.
This delayed the completion, which was set to be last year in December.

The road will be a route for the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRT) once it is rolled out in the area.
It connects with the roads in Extension Seven, which will lead to Vlakfontein Road.
Ward 80 councillor Wilson Busakwe said he was happy now that the road has finally been completed after the challenges faced over the years.

“The contractor is now left with the cleaning by removing the rubble and road markings.
“We are urging road users to abide by the rules of the road and not damage it during protests,” he added.
The councillor said the construction of Phakathi Street in Barcelona is underway.
“We are now left with one street to deliver on our promises, which is Macbeth Street,” he said.
