Family loses belongings in fire
The family of six is pleading with the community to lend a helping hand.
Tsakani – The Sukazi family from an informal settlement in Extension 19 lost all of their belongings in a shack fire.
The incident took place at midnight on Thursday after the family forgot to extinguish a candle they had been using to provide light in the shack.
While no fatalities occurred, the family has lost everything.
The family of six is pleading with the community to lend a helping hand.

They are all unemployed, with three school-going children and one grandchild.
“We need school uniforms, blankets, beds, kitchen supplies, furniture and food.
“We have used zinc to cover our window frames as we no longer have windows.
“I can’t even think straight at the moment with all the stress I am under, as my children and I don’t know what to do,” said Lindiwe Sukazi.
On Monday, MMC Ndosi Shongwe visited the family with a donation of two blankets.
