Medical equipment donated to the elderly
Zingaro donated medical aids for the pensioners at Kwa-Thema Society for the Care of the Aged.
Kwa-Thema Society for the Care of the Aged received donations in the form of medical equipment from Zingaro on Tuesday.
This was part of an initiative to plough back to the community by one of the residents who was also a teacher at Tlakula Secondary School, Zinhle Mthethwa.
Emily Molefe from the centre said the donations include five wheelchairs, two eating tables (that go over the bed), one oxygen cylinder, a sick bed, a walking stick and leg exercise equipment.
She explained that the Society for the Care of the Aged is an NPO providing for the welfare needs of 250 older people in Kwa-Thema and surrounding informal settlements.
“The pensioners meet during weekdays from Monday to Friday to participate in social and physical activities and programmes,” she added.
