Kwa -Thema mechanic receives dignified burial
The community of Barcelona in Kwa-Thema joined hands to lay a fellow community member to rest.
Kwa-Thema – The community of Barcelona in Kwa-Thema has come together to help bury a community member.
A well-known mechanic and Mozambican national was found dead on January 28 in his home in Barcelona section, where he lived alone.
His family could not be reached after they found him. They were later located in Thembisa and informed of his death.
Because of financial constraints, the family only managed to pay R1 500 for his burial. The community decided to contribute money, but it was still not enough.

“We found out last Thursday that he was still not buried. On Friday, we came together as a community to discuss a way forward.
“We donated more money, and the funeral services agreed to help if we paid a minimum of R5 500,” said Sabelo ‘Mboza’ Saneho, the chairperson of the Barcelona Youth League.
He also said this was not the first time the community united to assist with burying someone.
They had fewer challenges this time. With the community’s help, the man was finally laid to rest on March 22.
