All-male leadership for the Kwa-Thema Cricket Club

The new leadership for the Kwa-Thema Cricket Club was elected on Saturday

The Kwa-Thema Cricket Club held their bi-annual general meeting on Saturday at the Prince Thethe Oval at the Kwa-Thema Sports Complex.

The meeting is to renew the club’s mandate and to select new committee leadership.

This saw the club electing a new all-male leadership as compared to their last term whereby the committee had a female secretary.

The new and current leadership includes:
-Chairperson – Monwabisi Thethe.
-Vice-chairperson –Thabiso Msipha, who was the chairperson in the last term.
-Secretary – Musa Mancele.
-Treasurer – Sibusiso Mkhaliphi.
-Club captain – Maxwell Vinkhumbo.

Vice-chairperson Thabiso Msipha said, “We have a mandate as a committee to make sure that we deliver the following:

• Make sure that we produce the next Proteas players (men and women).

• Have world-class facilities to practice and for hosting matches.

• Have a financially successful cricket club.

• Make sure that the club has the community’s support.

• Get children playing cricket at the school level and club level.

• Build strong coaches who can coach internationally.

• Have strong administration of umpires, scorers and team managers.

• Have a minimum of two teams per age group (school and club).

• Create a succession plan for the current executive committee to build the next group of leaders.

• Create working committees that will be accountable and deliver the vision of the best club in the Ekurhuleni region.

• To help students academically.”
