Kwatsaduza Region E League preparations

A coach uses netball as a way to get kids off the streets.

Kwa-Thema – Netball preparations for the April league led to the Ulinda Netball Club walking away with 12 goals after locking heads with the Shooting Stars Netball Club recently.

The netball competition at the Mehlomakhulu Sports Ground served as a warm-up for the Kwatsaduza Region E League that starts next month.

Only four of the 17 teams able to register did not include any U13 teams. Ulinda’s U13 and U15 teams were registered to compete in the league.

Ulinda Netball Club coach Velly Mokgako said, “We encourage everyone to come and join us and boys and girls who love the sport are welcome.

“This will also give them something to look forward to when they return from school.

“We are also doing to remove the kids from the streets and protect them from harmful substances and unwanted pregnancies,” she added.

In her teams, she has one male playing for the U15 team and continues to encourage those interested to join any team in the area.
