Kwa-Thema: Pinky Mathibela is a female deep house DJ and event coordinator who is popularly known as It’s The Pinks.
Pinky said she has always had an ear for good music from a young age.
“Growing up I would watch my brother and his friends deejaying and I fell in love with the trade and knew I wanted to be a DJ one day.”
It’s The Pinks has hosted four Etiyeni events in 2022 along with her colleagues and this year they are planning to host its first anniversary.
She recently hosted a Chill-out with It’s The Pinks, which is her new event and a second one will be hosted on April 1 at Mtubane Grill House.

Local DJs like Black Dlux, Tpee, Mabaso, and Sweswe will feature and there will also be a performance by local artist Makhased.
“Sometimes I feel like these events host me like when deejaying chose me. I play every genre except for RNB and amapiano because almost everywhere you go people are listening to it,” she said.
Pinky added that she wants to set a platform for more female DJs as she feels like many of them know good music, but just don’t get enough exposure.
She said she hopes to travel the world with her deejaying because she believes music brings people together and also to fill a stadium with her one-woman show.
