Lebone Primary School learners excel at athletics
Two learners represented the school in provincial athletics.
Tsakani – Lebone Primary School learners Lesedi Mosire (150m) and Ntlale Senati (150m hurdles) won their events at the provincial athletics championship at the Ruimsig Stadium in Roodepoort recently.
The two Grade Seven learners represented the school in the U12 category.
They started their 2023 athletics journey on January 28 at Cluster Athletics in Boksburg, where they placed first and won gold medals.
Lebone Primary School’s acting principal Masire Madisa said he is proud of the teams’ coach, Michael Lentsoe, and the athletics manager, Inky Mabuza.

Lesedi and Ntlale went on to compete at Greater Town in Germiston on February 17. Their win led to them returning, and both won in their events and bagged gold medals.
“They were well prepared for the event. The unfortunate part is that one of them got injured during her event, but I am very proud of them,” said Lentsoe.
Senati, in her event on the day, qualified for the finals and, during the race, sustained an ankle injury. She couldn’t make the finals due to the injury.
They were spotted by the coach of Prestige College in Hammanskraal, where there is a chance they might get a scholarship if they meet the criterion.
