Learners rewarded for good performances

Kwa-Thema – The Institute of Mathematics (IM) SA awarded their top learners on Saturday at Bahama Bar.
The institute was established in 2011 to help learners from Kwatsaduza improve their maths, science and accounting marks.
The institute registered more than 1 000 learners this year and has centres in Kwa-Thema, Duduza, Daveyton and Katlehong.
“Schools’ SGBs, principals, the Ekurhuleni East District director, the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, Vodacom, Komatsu Joy and GDE all play a vital role in growing the institution,” said the IM CEO, Ntsane Masiloane.
Furzana Sadiq, the director of NtaNet Solutions Pty Ltd, said: “Infinite possibilities exist when powerhouses collaborate, and the award ceremony day was a testament to this statement.”
Sadiq said NtaNet Solutions and Vodacom Business were honoured to share platforms at the IM Kwa-Thema Sports, Art and Culture Day.
“The event was an explosion of learners, parents, facilitators and sponsors uniting with the African sun in Kwa-Thema to change the learning, values and benefits of mathematics.
“The advantages of working together include gaining access to skills, workflows or expertise, reaching more people and delivering a better project than would have been achieved individually,” she concluded.
Kantha Naicker, the managing director of Evolve Accounting, said, “We are members of SAICA and had the pleasure of attending the IM event.
“I am heartened to know that the type of work done at a grassroots level to encourage learners to up their maths skills and to move them beyond where they believe they can reach from an educational perspective can be applauded.”
Naicker wished Masiloane and the learners well, saying she hoped the institute would grow beyond where it is now.
