Afro FC wins first annual Greater Nigel Easter Tournament
The tournament saw 16 teams compete.
The first annual Greater Nigel Easter Tournament for football clubs in the area was held at the Mackenzieville Stadium from April 7 to 10.
Supporters eager to witness the tournament as it unfolded packed the stadium. The event started with 16 teams.
That number reduced as the tournament progressed, and teams were knocked out.

In the finals, Dikoena Nigel lost 5-1 to Afro FC, making Afro FC the first team to win the inaugural tournament.

“I congratulate Afro FC for winning and Dikoena FC for being the tournament’s runners-up. As organisers, we hope to attract more sponsors for our second tournament,” said Sizwe Masondo, one of the tournament organisers.
Dikoena chairperson Jonas Mahladisa said, “The game was intense because Afro is now playing in the Motsepe league and have improved their skills. I am happy with my team’s performance for being the runners-up in the tournament. ”
