St Andrew’s Church to host Career Fair for those wanting to further their studies
The education ministry committee will raise funds to assist learners who want to further their studies in church and community.
Kwa-Thema – The St Andrew’s Anglican Church’s education ministry committee will host a Career Fair on Saturday at the church premises on Ncwadi Street, Vergenoeg.
The event will take place from 09:00 to 14:00, and its purpose is to provide learners and those who dropped out with information about career guidance and bursary opportunities to further their studies.
Father Ntshukumo Zantsi, the rector at St Andrew’s Anglican Church, said, “This event is part of our social responsibility programme to help guide the youth and young adults on opportunities to further their studies and plan their careers.”

Zantsi told African Reporter that the long-term aims of the education ministry committee are to raise funds to assist learners from the church and the community with information, provide study materials, bursary opportunities and funds for applications and registrations at the start of the academic year.
Representatives from institutions like the University of Johannesburg, Wits University, Ekurhuleni East College, and the University of Pretoria will attend.
The keynote speaker will be Mesela Nhlapo, the CEO of the African Rail Industry Association and a former resident of Kwa-Thema.

Speakers from We Think Code and the Department of Correctional Services will be at the event. Information about bursaries from public institutions and private companies will be available. Chef and entrepreneur Ntokozo Kunene will also attend.
The attendees will get information and a chance to timeously start the application process with institutions because this was identified as a challenge that learners face.
Entry is free, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
