An acapella duo plans triple release of album
An acapella duo aims to pour the feeling of euphoria into the world through rhythms and sounds.
Kwa-Thema – Euphoric Rhythm is an a capella duo from Kwa-Thema. Formed in 2014 by Ndumiso Hlakuva, known as Dexter, and Samkelo Ndumo, known as Kofoko, they are also referred to as the kids of the new age of Afro-pop.
They formed as a means of entertaining themselves. As time went by, they started receiving positive feedback from the community and took it seriously.
Over the years, they acquired the skills to propel them to where their career is now.

Ndumo said, “We chose to do a capella because we first wanted to understand the fundamentals of music. That gave us an opportunity and advantage to become relevant in the music and entertainment industries.
“Through a capella, we learnt to be versatile because there are no genres we cannot do. We are not limited or subjected to one genre.”
Their frequent performances at churches, weddings, local events, and taxi ranks gave them the confidence, experience, and exposure they needed.

Euphoric Rhythm representative Mike Sithole, aka Smikaana, said he wants to see the duo perform on stage with popular SA artists like Vusi Nova, Ringo Madlingozi, and Kelly Khumalo. They are working on an EP, Rainbow, that Narco produced.
Hlakuva said, “The album will be a compilation of the EPs we worked on. It is a compilation of love songs and mostly Afro-pop with a mix of African genres. It can be listened to by everyone, even internationally.”
The duo said the album would have three dropping phases. The first phase will be next month, the second around August, and the last phase in November.
