Talks on road safety, bullying and gangsterism in schools around Kwatsaduza by EMPD and stakeholders
Thuthukanisizwe, Gorogang and Thakgalang Primary Schools among the beneficiaries of the EMPD campaign
KWATSADUZA – Members of the EMPD Social Crime Prevention Unit, in conjunction with other stakeholders such as Active Education and SAPS steered talks on road safety, bullying and gangsterism in schools around Kwatsaduza on Monday.
The initiative, aimed at improving awareness of how learners should behave when walking on a public road and crossing the roads safely, has led to a reduction in the number of school children involved in pedestrian motor vehicle accidents in recent weeks.
The EMPD would like the status quo to remain.
Furthermore, the intervention also seeks to address the recurring issues of bullying and gangsterism at a young age to help curb such behaviour.
Among the beneficiaries are Thuthukanisizwe Primary School in Tsakani, Gorogang Primary School in Kwa-Thema and Thakgalang Primary School in Duduza.
The EMPD will continue with these awareness campaigns throughout the metro.
