Kwatsaduza – Residents are encouraged to add their voice to the amendment of the electricity by-laws.
By-laws are adopted by the council of a municipality to regulate the affairs and services within the jurisdiction of the municipality.
As such, the City of Ekurhuleni supplies and distributes electricity to its customers in terms of its electricity by-laws.
The city’s initial electricity by-laws were approved and promulgated by the council resolution of April 2002.
With so many years gone by and times and legislation changing, the city finds it necessary to update the existing electricity supply by-laws.
This will ensure that the city operates within the confines of relevant legislation.
