Kwa-Thema bodybuilder pushes hard for glory
Xolani set his eyes on becoming a professional bodybuilder using his own gym.
Kwa-Thema – Aspiring bodybuilder Xolani Motshweni is aiming to take the world by storm. The Grade 12 learner at Zimisele Secondary School in Kwa-Thema is known as Sgaragara.
Xolani started his bodybuilding journey in 2019 when he was 18 years old.
Earlier this year, he joined the International Bodybuilding Fitness Federation (IBFF) and won the first position for U23.
“Bodybuilding is a journey on its own because you go through so many changes. Training never stops because the bigger you get, the better. So you need to be consistent with going to the gym or you will not be able to do anything,” he said.

Xolani said when he started he was using buckets filled with concrete and in 2019 he started his own gym in his yard.
To date he is still using his gym to train and has never used advanced machines.
“When I started, I was using Herbalife to help with enhancing my muscles, but now I am doing everything on my own. I don’t use any supplements. Even though it’s hard sometimes I just keep moving,” said Xolani.
He told African Reporter after completing his matric he is planning to pursue a career in bodybuilding and growing his gym so that he can help those who are interested in becoming professional bodybuilders like him.
Sgaragara draws inspiration from the youngest International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) professional bodybuilder Sibusiso Kotelo.
