Electricity restored in some areas of Kwa-Thema

Residents have been without power since Thursday.

Kwa-Thema – Power was restored in some areas of Kwa-Thema on Tuesday morning.

This is after residents had been without power since Thursday.

The power has been restored after measures were made to pull cables from the Vulcania Substation to the Monareng Substation.

Ward 77 Clr Thulane Dunjana said Monareng Substation wasn’t affected by the fire. The areas connected by the Monareng Substation have been reconnected.

“We are still trying to find solutions to restoring the power of the whole of Kwa-Thema, especially areas which get a connection through the Nkabinde Substation, which was on fire.

“We call for calm and patience from the residents as all will be done to restore power,” said Dunjana.

Areas that have been restored are Tornado, Masimini, Nyanyadu, Ext 4, Phase 1 and 2, Mthembu Village and Phomolo.
