Tshepo is creating a name for himself in football
Player shares his love of the game by coaching young soccer players.
Kwa-Thema – What started as an extra-mural activity at a young age is now a career for Tshepo Boee.
The 25-year-old started playing soccer when he was eight years old, playing for Ace Auto Ayoba Academy U11s.
Tshepo told the African Reporter that while growing up he did not have any interest in playing soccer but followed his friends.
“I did not really like soccer like the typical young boys who aspire to make it in the football industry but once I started playing I fell in love with the sport.
“The support and encouragement from the coaches and the competitive nature of the sport drew me to push myself to learning and excelling in the sport,” he said.
He added that he had an opportunity to play for Moroka Swallows for only one season and returned to play for Ayoba U16s after not getting enough playtime.
He got a chance to play for the U21s for the Gauteng provincial team and was later assessed for the Vodacom league for African All Stars.
“I was the youngest in the team and I played for two seasons. During this time, I was still a coach for the Ayoba U11s,” he said.
Tshepo sustained a collarbone injury in 2018, but after healing, he obtained his B coaching licence and became the team’s full-time coach.
