IT graduate becomes an author
The author has her sights set on helping children to express themselves through writing.
Langaville – At just 21, Princess Phahla published her first book, Secret of the Super Achievers, under Kamvelihle Azania Publisher in Daveyton.
The book aims to motivate and encourage young people to reach for their dreams. She started writing it in Grade 10 but had to pause in 2021 while she did Grade 12.
She told African Reporter that her journey to writing and finishing the book was not smooth sailing.
At one point, she had to borrow her lecturer’s laptop to continue.
“When I started with this book, I had no gadgets. I had to travel daily to the person who had a laptop so that I could type.
“I knew I wanted to be a published author, but I did not know anything about publishing a book. I did not let that deter me.
“Things started falling into place after meeting Dr Emmanuel Sithole, my maths tutor in 2020,” she said.
She explained that the motivation behind the book was environmental, educational, and psychological changes, many of which are inspiring.
According to Princess, the book was supposed to have seven chapters, but they had to cut it down to five because her deadline loomed.

“I am done with my research, and for this year, I plan to write and publish 10 children’s books because I believe the future is safe with the kids,” said the young author.
She added that it was her book but she also found it inspirational.
She is satisfied with the final product and hopes people will read it and take whatever lesson or inspiration they need.
She also plans to allow young children to tell their stories by writing books using their native language.
Princess is working on a children’s book.
The author studied IT and graduated from NW Avuxeni Computer Academy.
