Kwa-Thema – Amajuba gave RDP Masters no chance to return to the winner’s seat when the two teams met in the Tsamaya Top Eight Finals on Sunday.
RDP won the tournament for three consecutive years before losing to Verbal Warning last year. They came prepared this year, hoping to reclaim their glory, but Amajuba wouldn’t let that happen.
Amajuba were crowned the champions after a convincing 2-0 win against the team labelled the ‘Sundowns’ of the Tsamaya League, RDP Masters. It was their first major win since they joined Tsamaya over five years ago.
Tsamaya general treasurer Dumisani Dlamini said, “What we saw is inspiring and encouraging. It sends a clear message that there is no small or big team, and our league is growing.
“On that note, we, the Tsamaya executive, congratulate Amajuba. They are the best. We should also convey gratitude to the referees, players and supporters who came in large numbers to support us.”
The league games will resume on March 17 at Ntokozweni and Tlakula Grounds, and all 16 teams will participate.
The league fixtures:
Ntokozweni Ground:
- 10:00 City Royals vs Tsakane

On the day, Tsamaya will have a general meeting at Marotis Tarven (Mississippi Tavern) in Masimini Section at 15:00. The purpose is to elect new leadership. Teams are urged to send two representatives.
Dlamini said, “This is an opportunity for those who want to take the Tsamaya Social Football League to the next level, and they should grab this opportunity with both hands.”
