From son to star: Prince Ndaba competes in SA’s biggest spinning showdown
The son of spinning legend Magesh Ndaba, Prince, is ready to make his mark.
KwaTsaduza’s young star, Prince Ndaba, has been selected for Red Bull Shay’iMoto – A Legacy in Motion SA’s premier spinning competition that showcases the country’s best talent behind the wheel.
“The nerves are there, but I have been preparing for this for a long time. What I have to do is memorise the track and still do the moves,” he said.
What makes Prince’s story more special is that his journey into spinning is not just about skill; it’s about legacy. He is the son of legendary spinner Magesh Ndaba, a household name in the motorsport world, known for his jaw-dropping stunts on the pitch.
Magesh has been spinning for over two decades, paving the way for young talent across the country and playing an integral role in the Red Bull Shay’iMoto competition as a judge in recent years.
But this year, Magesh stepped down from his position as a Red Bull judge so that his son could take the spotlight and compete.
“I’ve seen Prince grow up around spinning, it’s in his blood. As a father, I couldn’t be prouder to watch him not only carry the Ndaba name but take it to new heights,” said Magesh.
Prince’s inclusion in Shay’iMoto is not just a personal milestone; it’s a moment of celebration for the entire KwaTsaduza community.
Young, focused and talented, Prince represents a new generation of spinners redefining the culture while staying rooted in its origins.
“Spinning has always been more than a sport to me; it’s a part of who I am. I’ve learnt from the best, and now it’s my time to show what I can do,” said Prince.
The upcoming Shay’iMoto event promises high-octane action, but for the Ndaba family and their supporters, it’s already a victory worth celebrating.
The torch has been passed, and Prince is ready to light up the pitch. The event takes place at Suncoast in Durban on Sunday at 18:30.
