EMPD nabs 10 in drug busts

Community tip-offs lead to 10 drug-related arrests in Ekurhuleni.

Ekurhuleni – The EMPD arrested 10 suspects between August 10 and 13 in Duduza, Daveyton, Putfontein and surrounding areas.

“Officers were acting on tip-offs from the community regarding individuals allegedly selling illegal substances. EMPD officers conducted targeted operations.

“The arrests resulted in the seizure of dagga, Mandrax tablets, crystal meth, and CAT, with an estimated combined street value of R12 520.

“The suspects, aged between 20 and 47, were detained at their respective local police stations,” said CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.

They face charges of possession and dealing in illegal substances and are expected to appear in a magistrate’s court soon.
