Meet the woman behind Duduza’s first ever spa

Zanele Ngcubezelo is breaking new ground in Duduza with the township's first massage spa.

Duduza – Zanele Ngcubezelo (44) has opened the first massage spa in Duduza, offering residents a new way to relax and rejuvenate without having to travel far.

Ngcubezelo, the founder of Zaza Spa, said, “I started the business to provide relaxation and introduce something new. Before this, I worked as a nail technician in the early 2000s and later completed a short course at a private college in Benoni.

“I have always enjoyed socialising with other women and helping them to feel confident through beauty services,” she said.

After years in the beauty industry, Ngcubezelo expanded her skills and enrolled at Sundry Beauty Academy, where she completed a short course in massage therapy.

“I started the spa in October this year, and my target is serving the elderly because I’m patient and love helping them. Some come with back or leg pain, and after a session, they feel better. I offer services to women, men, and children.”

Zanele Ngcubezelo, founder of Zaza Spa is offering a back massage to one of her clients.

Zaza Spa currently offers full-body massages, leg and back massages, as well as facials.

“Massage is not just for women. Children as young as four months can benefit. If you are always busy, your body becomes strained. It is important to get a massage to help the body rejuvenate. It is both stress-relieving and therapeutic.”

At the moment, she operates from home, so Ngcubezelo hopes to grow her business into a larger facility.

“My goal is to see the business expand. I’m grateful to the community and everyone who continues to support me. I also want to thank my mother for always encouraging and standing by me,” she said.

Ngcubezelo wants to empower others by teaching massage therapy skills to local youth.

“I believe it is important to give back and support one another. I would like to have an academy and pass on the skill to the youth. I would like to encourage young women not to give up, work hard so that they can be independent,” she said.
