Duduza man arrested after EMPD finds unlicensed firearm and 12 suspected stolen phones
EMPD officers recovered an unlicensed firearm and arrested the man they found with it.
Duduza – EMPD Bronberg officers arrested a man in Duduza after finding him with an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and suspected stolen cellphones on November 15.
“As the officers were conducting law enforcement duties in Duduza, they received information about an individual suspected of having an unlicensed firearm.
“The officers followed up on the tip-off and located the man on Comrades Street, Ext 2, Bluegum View,” said CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.
“A search revealed a black Girsan 9mm pistol with the serial numbers filed off, 17 live rounds and 12 cellphones suspected to be stolen.
“The necessary procedure was followed, and constitutional rights were verbally given to him.”
Officers detained the man at the Tsakane SAPS. He was unharmed and will soon appear in court.
