EMPD nabs woman with metro police uniform

EMPD officers arrested a woman allegedly trying to sell a metro police uniform in Tsakani.

Tsakani – EMPD Tsakane officers intercepted a woman for having a metro police uniform on November 17.

According to CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, officers received information from an EMPD traffic warden about a woman allegedly selling metro police uniforms.

“The traffic warden alleged that the lady tried to sell the uniform to him. That is when he contacted the Tsakane officers.

“The officers went to the location on Madumo Street in Tsakani Ext 11, and found a woman who seemed under the influence of intoxicating substances,” said Dlamini.

“They asked her about the uniform, and she claimed that she was taking it to a colleague. Officers asked to see any appointment certificate issued by the department or municipality, but she said she is not working and did not have such.”

The woman was arrested and detained at the Tsakane Police Station and will soon appear in the Tsakane Magistrate’s Court.
