Kedibone Mohwang claims triple gold at CoSACSA Championships in Cape Town
Reflecting on the achievements, Kedibone Mohwang highlighted that the race did not significantly boost her confidence, as she had had that for a long time.
Kedibone Mohwang delivered a gold standard performance at the recent CoSACSA track and field championships in Cape Town, clinching a distance triple to cap off a memorable competition.
Mohwang won gold medals in the 1 500m, 800m and concluded with another gold in the 4x400m relay.
Reflecting on the achievements, Mohwang highlighted that the race did not significantly boost her confidence, as she had had that for a long time.
“I have always been confident in whatever I do because I always try to do my best.
“I trust my coach’s teachings, and most importantly, my participation reminded me that I can still do better, no matter how many times I fail.
“Winning all the races, and not just winning them but also achieving personal bests in each one, tells me that we have nailed the speed-endurance work in training,” cited Mohwang.
“Controlling both races shows that I am not just about fitness, I am racing with confidence and forcing other athletes to respond to me.”
She believes her form is where it needs to be, saying that does not mean there is time to relax.
Her plan is to add more mileage to her speed work by focusing more on her morning jogs and long runs.
“This will help me build a strong, balanced body for this season.

“I was not expecting this race to come so early this year, so I did not set big goals for myself like I usually do for each and every race. This year, my goal was to surprise myself,” she added.
Mohwang explained that she wanted to see what she could bring to the race without too many expectations, just her and her time.
“I had told myself that whatever happens, happens. Whether good or bad, I would have embraced it.
“My first experience was not perfect, but I was able to finish and achieve a personal best.
“For my next participation, I will definitely come back stronger, with a better start and finish, and aim to break my personal best,” she concluded.
