Emthonjeni Pre Primary celebrates 47 years of providing education to learners

The principal Ntombenhle Khumalo, shared that the children have grown over the years through the development of the children.

Emthonjeni Pre Primary School in Tsakani is celebrating 47 years of growth, the role it has played in early childhood development and the support it has received from parents and the community over the years.

The event, held at the school on October 10, provided an opportunity to reflect on the school’s achievements, recognise those who have contributed to its development and share its plans for the future.

Principal Ntombenhle Khumalo told the African Reporter that the aim was to bring the parents of the learners together and tell the community that the school is still operating for Tsakani parents.

She said the school operated well over the years until 2020, when Covid-19 happened, which changed the dynamics but has been supported by the parents and the community.

“As the principal of the school, I have looked after many children who have grown to wonderful adults and community members.

“We ensure that the children leave the school in Grade One with the right tools and develop the children holistically,” explained Khumalo.

According to Khumalo, the school was the first preschool in Tsakani in 1979, and she stated that the community had been there from day one, including attending the event.

She thanked the parents and everyone who attended and added that the school will forever be there for the community and children.
