The blesser levels have certainly changed, yes, and the bar has been set higher! What used to be perceived as a level one blesser which is a transactional relationship based on an older man moving his younger girlfriend from one shopping spree to another while spoiling her with expensive weaves, phones, clothes and money has definitely
changed.
The basic level one blesser, which used to be previously viewed as dating an older man who will buy you clothes, gives you money and take you out to fancy restaurants, has been replaced by a new level one blesser which the prerequisite thereof is having the man not only spend a couple of thousands on clothes and restaurants, but now it has
escalated to being flown to lavish holiday destinations comprised also of designer clothing, shoes and bags.
The girls say they make close to a million rand in this new set up, all of this without the girl having set their foot at
any employment space.
While living a life which those who are employed would have to save up for while others can barely afford.
“A little fun won’t hurt” being the famous line these girls use while flying from one big city to the next.
Are there really no strings attached? Is it just a little fun? For many girls, this has been a trend and a culture to
sustain some sort of fabricated lifestyle that reflects contentment.
Many upon encountering a daddy who is willing to pay for it all, drop out of school and never see the need to being
educated because according to them they have made it in life already.
Lies, lies. Is life really about travelling to Paris and Dubai which are the most prominent destinations for blesses.
Everyone is born with dreams and visions that surpasses happiness but aspire for joy which is a fulfilment not based on what is happening but an inner fulfilment that cannot be shaken nor quenched in light of struggles and challenges.
Leaving joy outside the box because the pursuit of joy over living lavish may sound corny in light of the socio-economic challenges and inequalities this country has.
Everyone aspires to be in a relationship not only with a person who will spoil them but with a person who loves them and care for them through thick and thin, though that may sound like a Cinderella dream.
However, it is a dream that most girls grow up with from the early days of watching High School Musical and That’s so Raven before the dreams died on the flight going to Paris.
A question that arises is, is a Gucci bag, Louis Vitton shoes or a Prada dress worth one’s life and aspirations? Lies, lies. There is more that gets lost along the road to Paris and Dubai!
Dreams and visions can still be achieved by virtue of the gift of time.
However, scares and emotional pain challenge even the gift time.
Yet change only takes a decision. Women know your worth, love you and protect you.
