SAPS members in protest against Station Commander

Singing and dancing is taking place at the Alberton Police station in what is believed to be a protest by SAPS members against the Station Commander.

ALBERTON NORTH POLICE STATION – SAPS members at Alberton Police are waiting for the monthly POPCRU and SAPU (unions) meeting must take place. On the agenda for discussion is victimisation and harassment by the Station Commander, with “Protesters” being described as “impatient”.

Singing and dancing is taking place.

Journalists were not allowed and told it was an internal meeting. The RECORD’s reporters were told they will be removed from the scene if they would try to take any photographs.

The meeting has since started with. Union officials said that this is a normal union meeting.
