Local business ensures Look Forward Children’s Haven is protected

“We can all make a difference. Not just on Mandela Day, but wherever we can. Even a small gesture can make an impact.”

July is characterised by the celebration of Mandela Day. Despite it being in the middle of a pandemic, it is a day where many South Africans still did their part in the service of others.

Local business Group 1 Renault & Nissan The Glen were elated to spend their 67 minutes at the Look Forward Creativity Centre and Children’s Haven in honour of Mandela Day.

The Group 1 Motors Team gave each child and staff member a face shield, sanitiser spray and a gift bag of goodies, as well as bulk sanitiser on an ongoing basis to ensure that they are fully protected during this pandemic.

Staff from Group1cars.co.za (part of Group 1 Motors) also sanitised the entire children’s home with a portable thermal sanitisation fog machine donated by Triple S Strategic Sanitising Solutions. Beautiful face masks were also donated by Dimanzi Perfumes.

“We can all make a difference,” enthused George Stegmann, dealer principal of Group 1 Motors. “not just on Mandela Day, but wherever we can. Even a small gesture can make an impact.

“We hope we have brought some joy to the children and staff at Look Forward during this difficult time, but more importantly given them tools to stay safe.”

The Look Forward Creativity Centre and Children’s Haven in South Hills provides quality care, education, counselling and support to abandoned, orphaned and neglected children.
