Aged pipes aggravate Alberante residents

Despite replacing the pipes being on the IDP budget for nearly three years, they are yet to be replaced.

Alberante Extension residents are at their wits’ end about repeated pipe bursts.

Over the past week the residents experienced three leaks on the same stretch of pipeline.

The pipes in the area, according to local councillor alderman Bruna Haipel, are in a serious state of disrepair and in need of replacing.

According to her, the matter has been placed on the IDP budget for the ward for around three years. Despite repairs being done to the individual bursts, replacing of the pipes has not yet taken place.

Comment has been requested from the City of Ekurhuleni but at the time of publishing, no comment has been received.
