Ligstad empowers parents
Any parent can benefit from this workshop and are encouraged to consider attending.
At some stage, most parents wish that their child was born with a user manual telling them exactly how to raise the child to their best ability.
Being a parent is the toughest job there is and the one we are so often the least prepared for emotionally and mentally.
Realising that, Ligstad presents a workshop for parents at least three times a year to prevent the various negative effects of ineffective parenting.
The workshop covers seven steps to enable parents to become more effective parents.
Parents learn over two Saturday mornings that their parenting challenge is to raise confident, responsible children, how-to guide their children, to expect cooperation from their children, that their children’s behaviour always has a purpose and that the family can work, play and grow together.
It is a practical workshop with real-life examples, presented interactively for parents to learn from each other and to create new parenting habits leading to wonderfully positive results.
Alida Jooste, Ligstad’s social worker, recently presented the first workshop for 2021 that was attended by 14 parents and grandparents and plan on presenting another workshop on June 13 and June 20 at Ligstad.
“Any parent can benefit from this workshop and are encouraged to consider attending. Children react to their parents and learn by the example from their parents.
“It is never too early or too late to add to your parenting skills and to learn how to be a more effective parent,” said Alida.
Should you be interested in attending, contact Alida at alida.jooste@ligstad.co.za for her to send a registration form to you.
“The cost is R300 per manual needed. Attendees can share a manual with their partner if it is practical,” she said.
