Fourth Dimension and EMM want to protect substations
Alarm systems have been installed in substations in the Brackenhurst, Brackendowns, Mayberry Park and Albertsdal areas.
Substations in the Brackenhurst, Brackendowns, Mayberry Park and Albertsdal areas are now being protected by a local armed response company by using alarm systems.
Teamwork between Fourth Dimension Security Services and an appointed contractor from EMM led to this development, as residents had enough of vandalism of substations.

“Thank you to the council for allowing us to work with them to stop this vicious cycle of vandalism. A big thank you to residents of Brackendowns and Brackenhurst for donating the funds that made the installations possible,” said owner of Fourth Dimension Security Services Gerhard van der Schyff.
Alarm systems in substations

Fourth Dimension technicians recently installed alarm systems in most of the substations and they will respond at no charge to alarm activations as part of their service to the community.
According to van der Schyff, the substations will be monitored carefully.
“Due to substation vandalism, residents are without power for days,” said security officer Stephen le Roux.
“These power outages are costly for businesses and households. It is a big security risk and it is time to make a change. It is time to stop complaining and to take action,” van der Schyff added.
Put an end to vandalism

The purpose behind the alarm systems is to bring an end to the vandalising of these substations.
“People have had enough of the power outages, so we are making an active contribution to putting an end to the vandalism,” van der Schyff said. “This is about our community standing together and changing our town for the better.”
