Brackenhurst Primary cheerfully shows acts of kindness

As part of their food drive, learners of Brackenhurst Primary School wore civvies in exchange for a non-perishable food item.

Brackenhurst Primary School arranged a food drive on November 8 for non-perishable food to be donated to Amcare and other local entities.

The school has served the community in many ways over the years and they have always fostered a climate of helping the needy.

For Civvies Day, the school requested learners to donate non-perishable food items to help organisations in need.
Melody Pheiffer, a teacher at the school, said they will first help families at the school that are in need and then distribute to a few NPOs.

“The main beneficiary will be Amcare as they feed hundreds of people daily. A big part of education is teaching kids to be outward-looking and not always self-focused. Kindness, generosity and sharing are crucial values to teach our children, especially in such trying times,” she said.
