One suspect arrested for counterfeit US dollars

The police appreciate help from the community to curb crime.

Johannesburg Flying Squad members arrested six suspects for different crimes in the Johannesburg area and recovered three vehicles from September 16 to 19.

Among the six suspects arrested, two were arrested for unlawful possession of precious metals, one for possession of counterfeit goods (US dollars) and three suspects for possession of drugs.

Vehicles recovered include a white Isuzu truck, a black BMW X4 and a green Subaru Forester that were hijacked from the owners.

Johannesburg Flying Squad communication officer Raymond Sambo said the investigation continues in all cases.
Working closely with the community led to these recoveries.

“SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution. People may contact the relevant detective by quoting their case numbers regarding the vehicles.

“Six suspects appeared at different magistrate’s courts.”
