One suspect behind bars for possession of a dangerous weapon

If you have been robbed at gunpoint, come forward – police.

Johannesburg Central Police arrested a man for possession of a dangerous weapon at the corner of Anderson and Kruis streets on January 8.

Acting communications officer Sergeant Constance Lelimo said police were doing their routine crime prevention when they saw a white BMW X6 driving at high speed at the address mentioned above. They stopped the car and searched it.

They found a toy gun inside the car under the driver seat.

“The suspect was arrested and detained at Johannesburg Central SAPS. He will appear soon in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court.

“We are appealing to the community that if a male robbed you with a firearm around the above-mentioned streets to come forward so that more charges can be added,” she said.
