Men and women in blue gives Alberton SAPS facelift

Members of Alberton SAPS took off their blue uniform and wore their casual clothes to give the station makeover on January 27.

To honour the dignity of the community, Alberton SAPS staff took some time to give the police station a facelift to improve its appearance and general state on January 27.

The goal was to make the garden better so that people would have a place to go for lunch or tea where they could unwind.

Additionally, they care about their town and wanted to help rather than just whine about the issue.

According to the station’s captain and spokesperson, Captain Manare Ramotshela, the whole idea came with the station commander, Colonel Olven Letloenyane, after he saw the need to help the staff that is responsible for ensuring that the station is in good condition.

“We are extremely proud of our cleaners, but they need a helping hand as they are not enough and are responsible for many different duties within the station. This is what we call ‘unity to bring change’ programme because we are supporting one another in all circumstances, big and small,” said Ramotshela.

Ramotshela told the Alberton Record that as the station they are planning to ensure that the station remains in good condition by cleaning up once every month.

Ramotshela thanked everyone for taking their time to help make the day a success.
