Suspects arrested for possession of two unlicensed firearms

Police appreciate working relationships with the community.

Johannesburg Flying Squad members arrested four suspects in the Johannesburg area and recovered one vehicle from January 27 to 30.

The suspects were caught with two unlicensed firearms (a 9mm Glock and 9mm Norinco) with ammunition in their possession.

The stolen vehicle, a white Toyota sedan, was recovered in Johannesburg CBD. The vehicle was handed to the Aeroton SAP 13.

The Johannesburg Flying Squad communication officer, Raymond Sambo, said working with the community led to these recoveries.

“The SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution. For information regarding the vehicles, contact the relevant detective quoting the case number.

“An investigation continues in all cases. The suspects appeared in the magistrate court facing charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition,” he said.
