Lynette Meyer brings PinkDrive to Riverlea

The Riverlea community members came in their numbers with services such as pap smears, mammograms, and prostate testing available.

Lynette Meyer, the Ward 23 health and social development committee member and PinkDrive representative, organised a successful PinkDrive at Riverlea Clinic on April 19.

The Riverlea community members came in their numbers, with services such as Pap smears, mammograms, and prostate testing available.

According to Meyer, such initiatives are vital because of the early signs and symptoms of cancer in men and women, the risk factors and the importance of early detection.

“The community was grateful, and they hope to make this an annual event where we can provide services such as Pap smears and mammograms for women and prostrate testing for men.”

Meyer discovered that men were more willing to have the test because now they just prick a finger and immediately get their results.

The community was grateful for the pink ladies’ visit. It was a fun day spent listening to everyone’s stories.
