Mondeor SAPS, CPS Security arrested suspects for alleged solar panel theft

Two men were arrested for allegedly stealing solar panels in Mulbarton.

A suspect was arrested on Loddon Road, Mulbarton, by CPS Security and the Mondeor SAPS for allegedly stealing solar panels on May 4.

According to the director of CPS Security, Tyrone van der Merwe, one of their reaction units saw two suspicious males carrying solar panels while conducting a routine inspection of the neighbourhood.

“Our reaction unit called for backup and stopped the two suspects before they could flee on foot,” said Van der Merwe.

It was later learnt that the items were stolen from a nearby property.

Both suspects were taken into custody for possession of stolen assets and, apparently, might be connected to other crimes in the area.

The Mondeor SAPS detained both accused.

Van der Merwe thanked both parties for successfully arresting the two suspects.

The seized solar panels.
The arrested suspect was put in the police van.
