Johannesburg South residents get blood flowing for a good cause

Meyer gives thanks to management of the Glenvista Shopping Centre for accommodating this event and the SANBS for giving so generously of their time

South African National Blood Service (SANBS) hosted a blood drive at the Glenvista Shopping Centre recently.

The organiser of the event was Lynette Meyer, a health and social development portfolio committee member.

The donors were welcomed with open arms by the SANBS staff and were given one gigabyte of data for any network, as well as subscriptions to Showmax.

Meyer said it was endearing to see first-time donors attend the blood drive.

“Our residents are always ready to lend a hand and donate without reservation,” said Meyer.

Meyer said SANBS will now be joining her and the PinkDrive to service the JHB South residents.

“These two services go hand in hand with early detection of many types of cancer and other viral disorders,” said Meyer.
