Collaboration sees hotspot demolished
A collaboration between key role players saw the demolition of a notorious crime hotspot in Alberton.

In a significant blow to crime, a joint operation between CPS Security, the EMPD, the Gauteng Traffic Police and the Alberton SAPS resulted in demolishing a property on St Columb Road, New Redruth.
This property was a thorn in the community’s side, serving as a hub for illicit activities. The CoE council approved the demolition after a thorough application process.
The joint operation is a testament to the power of collaboration and co-ordination between law enforcement agencies and private security companies.
Over the years, several joint operations were done at the premises, resulting in many arrests for crimes like possessing stolen goods, unlicensed firearms, and dealing in narcotics.

“The demolition of this structure will give less opportunity for criminals to use it for illicit activity as well as remove a hotspot for many crimes that take place in the house and around the area,” said Tyrone van der Merwe of CPS security.
The property’s demolition marks a milestone in the fight against crime in Alberton.
The community can breathe a sigh of relief, knowing their streets are safer thanks to the tireless efforts of law enforcement agencies and private security companies.
This joint operation is a shining example of what can be achieved when various stakeholders work together towards a common goal.
