Raahil earns 8 distinctions
Raahil Ranchod, an Alberton resident and St Benedict's learner, achieved eight distinctions and a remarkable 89% in his matric exams, with plans to pursue actuarial computer science, while also excelling in sports and extracurricular activities like basketball, hockey, and karate.
Alberton resident and St Benedict’s learner, Raahil Ranchod, passed matric with 89% and eight distinctions, earning a Bachelor’s pass with distinction.
Raahil hopes to study actuarial computer science at Wits or the University of Cape Town this year.
His subjects: English (82%), Afrikaans (82%), life orientation (92%), maths (94%), science (86%), IT (93%), accountancy (94%), further studies in mathematics (FSM) stats (66%), FSM calc (94%).
His accolades at the school include full academic colours, the bilingualism award, and a golden ratio certificate for mathematics – awarded to matric learners who achieved a distinction in maths, further studies mathematics and physical science.
He did Kumon English and maths until Grade 10 and completed the English curriculum. Raahil completed the bronze and silver levels in the President’s Award.
This young man has a keen interest in basketball and hockey and earned a black belt in karate in Grade Eight.
He describes himself as calm, confident and self-assured, and when it comes to his work ethic, as dedicated, motivated and ambitious.
