Male suspect found with dagga behind bars
The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) officers arrested a 45-year-old male suspect who was found in possession of illicit substances on the corner of Swaartkoppies and Potgieter Road on June 9.

As the DEU officers were patrolling the Alberton area, they noticed a suspicious-looking male walking along Swaartkoppies Road.
They stopped the suspect and searched him, and discovered 55 ziplock bags of dagga, with an estimated value of R1 100 in his possession.
“The suspect was immediately arrested and taken to Brackendowns Police Station, where a case of possession and possible dealing in illicit substances was opened, and will soon appear in court,” explained EMPD spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa.
