Locals are urged to practice extra caution when in public spaces.

Alberton CPF informs local residents of the various trends happening across Alberton.

The local CPF has picked up certain patterns of crimes in various communities.

Alberton North/Florentia

The most prevalent concern is break-ins at businesses, especially in the early morning.

Elandshaven

There have been a lot of residential break-ins, and there is a lot of foot traffic in the vicinity.

General Alberts Park

In the early hours of the morning, tyres have been stolen from a number of vehicles.

New Redruth

From roughly 12:00 to 19:00, vehicle-related crimes like theft from and break-in into motor vehicles are common in and around the CBD and also theft of electrical fuses is still a problem.

Verwoerdpark

Home invasions and home robberies are of concern following a victim that was followed from a nearby shopping centre and held up while household belongings were stolen.

Additionally, The Alberton CPF asks locals to be alert for any suspicious vehicles with multiple occupants parked by the side of the road. According to information they have received, these people may be waiting for a victim to pull into their driveway or follow them home.

Take note:

Local residents are requested to exercise caution in and near the 2nd Ave Shopping Centre, as previously advised by the CPF.

When using the N3, N12, or N17, be on the lookout for unmarked cars with blue lights.

With reference to the facts mentioned above, the frequency and method of the crimes can change, so everyone is advised to be on the lookout for any unusual behaviour.
