Pre-trial dates set for March next year in Sheldon Terry’s fraud case

The Meyersdal suspect will appear in court on March 5, 6 and 7 next year.

Magistrate Matshitse has postponed the pre-trial of Sheldon Terry’s fraud case to March 5, 6 and 7 next year at the Booysens Magistrate’s Court.

It was set to be heard on September 5 and 13. However, due to the unavailability of the accused’s senior counsel, it was postponed. Botha, as Terry’s defence, said the senior counsel is on leave on an urgent matter.

Upon discussion before the court sitting, Botha and the prosecutor agreed to postpone the matter.

Matshitse on postponing the matter said he also warned the three witnesses who were present in court for March 5.

In his previous appearance (April 6), the magistrate asked the State to prepare the pre-trial document and fix the charge sheet that was not in order.

Terry first appeared in court on December 21, 2021, and is out on R5 000 bail.

His bail conditions remain, and he must still observe them.
