WATCH: ‘New facts’ to be revealed in Alberton mother and son murder case

Fredie Stapelberg reappeared in court alongside co-accused, Pardon Danhire, for the Randhart murders.

Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court saw the reappearance of Freddie Stapelberg (34), the prime suspect in the murders of his girlfriend Nadine Terblanche and her nine-year-old son Ruandré, alongside his co-accused, Pardon Danhire (37) on July 31.

During their appearance, the court heard that Stapelberg intended to bring forth new facts in his next bail application, while Danhire instructed his legal representative to abandon his bail.

This comes after the tragic incident that occurred at Terblanche’s Randhart home on November 27, 2023.

Their matter was set down for August 21 to be heard for at least three hours, for bail application on new facts.

During a previous court appearance, Stapelberg’s bail was denied due to concerns regarding his psychological state, which was considered potentially dangerous to himself and others.

Stapelberg entered the dock next to Danhire, who had worked as a gardener for Stapelberg and Terblanche for several years. Danhire, a Zimbabwean national, was arrested on the day of the murders and has remained in custody since.

Until their next appearance, both Stapelberg and Danhire who face two counts of murder will remain in custody.
