Brackenhurst man’s hijacked vehicle was recovered in Thokoza
The victim was driving into his home when suspects pounced on him and hijacked his vehicle.
Car Tracker, Thokoza SAPS, Brackendowns SAPS, Ekurhuleni Thatha-Zonke Anti-crime Unit, and Trust One Guard Security Service came to the rescue of a hijacking victim in Brackenhurst.
The hijackers allegedly followed the unsuspecting victim for some time. Moments before driving into his property, the suspects pounced on him, held him at gunpoint, and forcefully took his vehicle.
The suspects fled with the car.
The victim rushed to the Brackendowns police station to report the incident.
Thatha-Zonke Anti-crime Unit, a Kathorus-based security company, received a tip about the hijacking from a supporter who witnessed the case being filed at the police station.
An extensive search was conducted in Thokoza, where the vehicle tracking company reported the car was active.
Law enforcement agencies and security companies descended on the township to search for the vehicle.
They found it abandoned in Thokoza with a signal jammer inside.
