Man arrested after 2 unlicensed firearms seized in Brackendowns
A joint law enforcement operation led to the seizure of two unlicensed firearms, with the suspect facing firearm possession charges.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested after two unlicensed firearms were seized during a joint law-enforcement operation in Brackendowns on September 19.
The EMPD Community Liaison Unit conducted the operation together with other law-enforcement agencies.
This follows information received about a suspect allegedly in possession of unlicensed firearms.
According to the EMPD, officers obtained the necessary search and seizure warrants before searching a property on Felicia Street.
During the search, officers recovered an unlicensed 9mm Pietro Beretta pistol with an intact serial number and an unlicensed front-loading rifle with a defaced serial number.
The Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC) attended the scene to process the recovered firearms.
The suspect was arrested and detained at Brackendowns Police Station on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms.
He is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrates’ Court. Police investigations are continuing.
