AfriForum Alberton helps keep neighbourhood clean

AfriForum's Alberton branch vows to not let the community deteriorate and helped make a difference on World Clean-up Day.

AfriForum’s Alberton branch sponsored a gathering at Gatwick Park where locals had the opportunity to get to know one another on World Clean-up Day.

A group of roughly 25 volunteers, with the assistance of various neighbourhood organisations, came together to help clean up the park during this occasion.

The purpose of this programme was to make a secure area where neighbours could interact while also contributing to environmental improvement.

“The cooperation between communities and organisations creates hope for the future. Taking on projects like this is proof that we will not sit back and watch our environment deteriorate,” said Jurie Ferreira, AfriForum’s district coordinator for the East Rand.

The Alberton branch invites the neighbourhood to participate in their efforts to change things for the better.

For more information and to get involved, the community can contact the branch by email at alberton@afriforumtak.co.za.
