Ward 106 Clr and team show appreciation for Hospice children’s unit staff

This vital facility provides specialised care and support for young patients facing life-limiting illnesses.

Ward 106 Clr Tim Denny along with Lydia Perreria and Bronwyn Brajevich (portfolio for Women and Children in Ward 106), organised a braai for the staff of Stepping Stone Hospice’s Martelise Meaker Children’s In-Patient Unit.

The event took place on December 14 at Stepping Stone Hospice in Alberton.

A private donor who wishes to remain anonymous sponsored this braai.

Denny expressed his gratitude to the donor and emphasised the importance of recognising the selfless efforts of the hospice staff.

The staff enjoyed a well-deserved break, savouring food and drinks.

“I arranged it to thank the Hospice helpers in recognition that their selflessness to the patients does not go unseen and unappreciated”, said Denny.

The braai also aimed to raise awareness about the vital work of the paediatric hospice, which is one of five in South Africa and in dire need of support.

The staff enjoyed a well-deserved break, savouring food and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere.
